Kitchen Remodeling in St. Cloud, FL
Designed in 3D, permitted with the right Osceola County or city office, and built by a licensed Florida general contractor that also holds its own plumbing license.

Kitchen remodel projects in St. Cloud
Kitchen remodels in St. Cloud vary with the age of the house. Downtown homes often have kitchens that were extended or rearranged by past owners, leaving awkward soffits, uneven floors and plumbing that runs in odd places. In 1990s and 2000s subdivisions off US 192, the layout is usually fine but the finishes are not: oak cabinets, laminate counters and a small pantry. We measure, show you the new kitchen in a 3D rendering, and plan around what the structure actually allows.
What changes for a kitchen remodel in St. Cloud
If the home is on a raised floor near the lakefront, moving a sink or adding an island drain is often simpler than in a slab home, because lines run underneath. In slab homes we cut and trench the concrete, which we include in the estimate rather than leave as a surprise. Kitchen work that changes plumbing or electrical requires a permit through the City of St. Cloud Building Department, or through Osceola County for Harmony and other unincorporated addresses, and we handle that application.
Local details we plan around
- Older downtown and lakefront homes may sit on raised floors or have years of patched plumbing, which changes how we run new drain and supply lines.
- Lakefront homes on East Lake Toho face more wind and moisture exposure, so window and door products and exterior sealing matter more.
- Harmony and parts of the Narcoossee corridor are unincorporated Osceola County, not the city, so the permit goes to a different office.
- Master-planned communities usually require architectural approval for exterior work, which adds a step before permitting.

Scope
What the work includes
In-home measure and design
We come to your home, measure every wall, window and opening, note where the plumbing, gas and electrical run today, and talk through how you actually cook and use the room.
3D design rendering
Your measurements become a 3D model of the new kitchen, so you can see the layout, cabinet heights, island size and finishes before anything is ordered or torn out.
Cabinets
European-style frameless cabinets and custom cabinetry are our specialty, with framed options when they suit the house. Storage inserts, soft-close hardware and tall pantry units are planned into the design.
Countertops and backsplash
Quartz, granite, quartzite, marble or solid surface, templated after the cabinets are set. We coordinate sink and cooktop cutouts, seams and the backsplash tile so everything lines up.
Plumbing under our own license
Sink moves, island sinks, dishwasher and ice maker lines, gas line work for a new range location and fixture installation are handled under our Certified Plumbing Contractor license, not handed off.
Electrical and lighting
New circuits for appliances, code-required GFCI protection, recessed and under-cabinet lighting, pendants over an island and outlet placement planned around how you work at the counter.

"It is a pleasure to recommend Prime Construction / Kitchens for any of your home remodeling needs. Prime Construction helped me diagnose a problem with a wall in my garage related to a window leak. Prime Construction shared with me how I could address the issue myself and saved me the cost of a dispatch by their team. They were only concerned with helping me resolve my issue. I give my full recommendation to Prime Construction. Thank you"

FAQ
Kitchen Remodeling in St. Cloud: questions
Do not see your question? Call us or send the estimate form and we will answer it on the phone.
How long does a kitchen remodel take in a St. Cloud home?
Most kitchens we remodel take roughly 4 to 8 weeks on site once materials are delivered, longer for custom cabinetry or layout changes that move plumbing. Design, material selection and permitting with the city or Osceola County come before that. We give you a schedule with the estimate and update it if inspections or deliveries shift.
Is Harmony in the City of St. Cloud for permits?
No. Harmony has a St. Cloud mailing address but is in unincorporated Osceola County, so building permits go to the Osceola County Building Office rather than the City of St. Cloud. The community also has its own association design standards for exterior changes. We handle both the association submittal and the county permit.
Can you remodel an older home near downtown St. Cloud?
Yes. Older homes near New York Avenue and the lakefront often have past additions, mixed plumbing materials and sometimes raised floors. During the in-home visit we look at what is accessible, explain what may need replacing once walls or floors are open, and write the estimate so you can see which items depend on what we find.
What is the average cost to remodel a kitchen in Orlando, Florida?
There is no honest single average, because a refresh that keeps the layout and a full remodel that moves plumbing through the slab are very different projects. The cost is set by layout changes, cabinet construction and linear footage, countertop material, appliances, lighting and permits. We give a written estimate after measuring your kitchen at home. Our kitchen remodel cost guide explains typical ranges and what each level includes.
How long does a kitchen remodel take?
Most full kitchen remodels take about 4 to 8 weeks on site once materials have arrived. Design, selections and ordering usually add several weeks before demolition. Kitchens that keep the existing layout finish faster; moving a sink across a slab, opening a wall or waiting on custom cabinets adds time. We give you a schedule before work starts and keep you updated as it moves.
Do I need a permit to renovate my kitchen in Florida?
You usually need a permit when the remodel changes plumbing, electrical, gas, structure or the layout. Cosmetic, like-for-like work such as paint, flooring, or cabinets and countertops replaced in the same spot without plumbing changes generally does not require one, but your city or county building department decides. As a licensed general contractor, we pull the permit and handle the inspections.
