Bathroom vanities in Orlando, FL come in standard widths of 24, 30, 36, 48, 60 and 72 inches, and the right one is the largest size that still leaves the clearances around your sink, toilet and door. Powder rooms and small guest baths usually take a 24 or 30 inch single, hall baths a 30 to 48 inch single, and primary baths a 60 or 72 inch double. Below is what each size fits, the styles and tops that work in Florida humidity, and what drives the price.
Bathroom vanity sizes and what each fits
| Width | Sinks | Best for | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 24 in. | 1 | Powder rooms, small guest baths | Very little counter; pick a small bowl |
| 30 in. | 1 | Guest and hall baths | A comfortable minimum for daily use |
| 36 in. | 1 | Hall baths, smaller primary baths | Good counter on both sides of the sink |
| 48 in. | 1 (sometimes 2) | Larger hall baths, primary baths | Single sink with lots of counter is usually better than two tight sinks |
| 60 in. | 2 | Primary baths | The common minimum for a double vanity |
| 72 in. | 2 | Larger primary baths | Room for a center drawer bank between sinks |
Depth is usually 21 inches, with 18 inch narrow-depth models for tight rooms. Height ranges from about 30 to 36 inches with the top. Many homeowners now choose 34 to 36 inch comfort height, which matches kitchen counters and is easier on the back.
For small spaces specifically, our 24 inch vanity guide covers dimensions, clearances and storage options.
How to measure for a new vanity
- Measure the wall. Wall to wall, or wall to the edge of the toilet, at floor level and at counter height. Walls are rarely perfectly square.
- Check clearances. The plumbing codes used in Florida call for at least 15 inches from the center of a sink to a side wall or obstruction, and 21 inches of clear floor in front of it. A common planning target for a double vanity is about 30 inches between sink centers.
- Find the plumbing. Note how high the drain sits and where the supply lines come out. Most Central Florida homes are slab-on-grade, so moving a drain sideways can mean cutting concrete or opening the wall.
- Note doors and switches. Check that the vanity and top do not block the bathroom door, a shower door or a light switch.
- Plan the mirror and lighting. Center the mirror over the sink, and leave room for side sconces if you want them.
Vanity styles that work in Orlando bathrooms
- Shaker. Flat recessed-panel doors. Works with almost any tile and fixture style and is the most common choice in remodels.
- Flat-panel modern. Slab doors and drawers, often in wood grain, matte color or high-gloss. Pairs well with large-format tile.
- Floating. Wall-mounted with open floor below. Makes a bathroom look larger, needs blocking in the wall and the plumbing at the right height.
- Furniture style. Legs, decorative trim and a piece-of-furniture look. Good for powder rooms.
- Double vanity with a tower. Two sinks with a tall cabinet or drawer bank between them on a long wall.
- Open shelf. A shelf under the cabinet for towels. Works best with towels you use daily, since dust collects.
Vanity tops and sinks
The top is often as big a decision as the cabinet.
- Cultured marble. Cast with an integrated sink and a glossy gel coat. Affordable and seamless, common on vanity sets.
- Quartz. Engineered stone that does not need sealing and resists stains. The most popular choice in remodels. See our guide to the quartz stone vanity top.
- Granite. Natural stone, durable, needs periodic sealing.
- Marble. Classic look, but it stains and etches and needs regular sealing.
- Solid surface. A seamless acrylic or polyester top, repairable when scratched.
Undermount sinks look cleanest with stone and quartz, vessel sinks free up cabinet space, and integrated sinks are the easiest to clean.
Built for Florida humidity
Bathrooms in Orlando run humid most of the year, and vanities fail from the bottom up. When you compare vanities:
- Choose plywood or solid wood boxes over particleboard.
- Look for a finish applied on all sides, including the cabinet interior.
- Check that the cabinet bottom is sealed, since it sits under the trap.
- Pick stainless, coated or solid brass hardware that will not rust.
- Make sure the bathroom has a working exhaust fan that vents outside.
We go deeper on construction and finishes in our post on bathroom vanity cabinets built for humidity.
What drives the price of a vanity
Vanity cabinets typically run about $300 to $3,000+ in 2026, with custom cabinetry above that. Where a vanity falls in that range depends on:
- Width and number of sinks. More cabinet, more top and, for doubles, two sinks and two faucets.
- Box construction. Particleboard at the low end, plywood and solid wood higher.
- Stock, semi-custom or custom. Each step up adds sizing flexibility, finish choice and cost.
- Top material. Cultured marble at the low end, quartz and natural stone higher.
- Finish and hardware. Painted, stained, specialty finishes, soft-close drawers and organizers.
Installation in the Orlando area runs about $300 to $900 for a like-for-like swap, and $1,000 to $2,500+ when the plumbing or wall changes, such as going from one sink to two. A stone top set on an existing vanity is about $250 to $700 in labor. These are planning ranges, and a written estimate after measuring is the real number.
Delivery and installation timing
In-stock vanities can be installed within days. Special-order and semi-custom vanities often take a few weeks, and custom longer. When the vanity is part of a bathroom remodel, design and ordering usually run 2 to 6 weeks, then 2 to 3 weeks on site for a same-layout guest bath or 3 to 6 weeks for a full primary bath.
A like-for-like vanity swap usually does not need a permit, but moving plumbing does. Your city or county building department has the final word.
